Kate Louis
Coolen, Kate Louis (nee Zinck), 85, of Comox, B.C., passed away peacefully on February 4, 2008. She will be sadly missed by her children Tremaine (Lynn), Langley, B.C., Marlane (Ken) Mann, Edmonton, Alberta, Jennifer of Campbell River, B.C. and sister Elsie of Fox Point, N.S.. Kelly-Lyn (Gethin) Evans, Jeffrey (Becky) and Ashlee, all of Langley, B.C., will miss sharing Gramma's laughter.
Kate was predeceased by Bernard ("Bunny"), her husband of 60 years, brothers Josiah and James, and sisters Vernie and Letha.
Born in Blandford, N.S., Kate served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps (1943-1945) and was a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She will be remembered most for her wit and ready smile by all those who entered her home to test the latest recipe.
A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated VIHA caregivers and the special Mom met at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach.
The funeral was held Saturday, February 9th, 2008 at 2pm, at Piercy's Funeral Home, 440 England Ave., Courtenay, B.C. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
