Karla was born in Bremen Germany, the eldest of 8 children. The family emigrated to Canada in 1953 to work a sugar beet farm in Raymond, AB in exchange for paying their journey. She made her way to BC in 1959 settling in Campbell River in 1962.
Karla is survived by her loving children, Shirley, Terry (Scott), Trevor (Carla). Her grandchildren Kris, Teresa (Warcup) Chelce and Danielle as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Oma. Karla is predeceased by her son Berne and her partner George. Mom will be missed dearly and remembered for the love of her family, a kind caring word and of course her cabbage rolls and rotkohl.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mcewen for her kindness during a difficult time. Service to come at a later date.
