Karl peacefully passed away with love and comfort from his family after his courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Elfrieda (Fitz); brothers Stefan and Thor and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends. He was predeceased by his father and mother, brother Laurie and sister Margaret.

Karl was born in the old hospital in Campbell River, BC where his mother was a nurse. Karl’s love for music was playing the guitar and singing. Karl was the first one to play at the Quinsam Hotel before they started regular bands there. He called it his claim to fame. He loved gathering with friends and family at home, at their houses or at the office (The Eagles). Karl loved playing his guitar and singing for all the children with laughter and love in his eyes. He was the most kind and gentle soul and would give you the shirt off his back. He was a construction worker and later worked with chain link fencing. He loved outdoor recreation and gold panning. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 36 years and his family and many friends.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Eagles Hall, Sunday April 23, 2006; Service at 1p.m. ISLAND FUNERAL SERVICES/ELK FALLS CREMATORIUM, CAMPBELL RIVER entrusted with arrangements.
