June Hazel Larsen

It is with great sadness that we, the children of June Hazel Larsen, announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother. She left us way too soon on July 4th, 2012 at the age of 79.

Mom was a very determined woman. After being widowed twice and left with nine children to raise, she put her hand to many jobs such as house cleaning, clam digging, cooking in restaurants and logging camps, and commercial fishing. She even tried her hand at running her own business (Little Bear Fishing Gear).

Mom loved to play card and board games and entertained us with her desire to win. She loved to dance and socialize which made her many friends.

Mom did things her own way whether it was renovating the house with a chainsaw, mowing the lawn in her daisy-may shorts, bra, and work boots, or overcoming her fear of flying by taking flying lessons.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren greatly benefited from her love of crafting, crocheting, and knitting.

Left to mourn and miss her greatly are her children: David (Wendy) Turcott, Ellen (George) Mathieson, Jae Turcott, Stanley (Kristina) Turcott, Katherine Thicke, Gerald (Sandy) Dennhardt, Kris Dennhardt, Kellie-Rose (Morris) Gall, William Dennhardt, 20 grandchildren, and 16 great- grandchildren.

The family has plans to gather next year to have a private Life Celebration for our mother.

Life ... the soul’s sweet memory.
