June Georgette Greens (nee Schembri), after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimers, passed peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River, BC.

June, born June 18, 1941 in Mattawa, ON to George and Ruth Schembri, leaves behind her devoted husband Frank, sons Darrell (Dawn), Karl (Jennifer), Johan (Tanya) and stepson and daughter Ray and Catherine, sisters Emma and Ruth, brothers Harold and George, beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a loving extended family.

June was raised in a hard working farm family and carried her strong values throughout her life. As a young mother, she relocated her family from North York, ON to Prince Rupert, BC and raised three sons. June worked steadily to support her family at Safeway as a meat wrapper and later transferred to Vancouver where she continued at Safeway until her retirement.

June married Frank in 1990 and the two relocated to Campbell River in 1997 to undertake their new venture of operating a successful B&B resort. They also shared a love for a special breed of dog and became respected breeders and showers of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and enjoyed travelling with their four legged friends.

June had many passions, mainly her family and friends and a good cup of tea with a cat on her lap. She excelled at gardening, being a CR Garden Tour Club Member, showing her green thumb and floral displays for over a decade. June was a faithful newspaper carrier in the Holly Hills area for over 10 years until her illness took hold.

We thank all of those over the years of battling this disease for their care and compassion. All of the caregivers, doctors, family and friends that have given their support; the care from New Horizons and Yucalta Lodge. With your help, June was able to end her battle with peace and dignity.

We have Lost our Sweet June,

A Rose in the Garden of Life, She Will Bloom Forever.
