The family of June Elizabeth McBride (formerly Macklin, nee Brunsgaard) are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully on April 25th, 2018.
June was predeceased by her husband, Carl McBride, sister Alice, brother Hans, and son-in-law Steve Curley.
She leaves behind her children: Mike Macklin, Dave Macklin (Elfrieda), Nancy Curley, Jenny Green (Chuck), and Norm Macklin (Sherry). Also mourning June's passing are her sisters Elsie Rogers (Ray), Kathy LaMarche, brother Emil Hansen (Sharon) and sister-in-law Jan Brunsgaard (Bruce Dobinson).
June was blessed to have 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who she adored. She will be missed by life long friends, Tom and Verna Macklin.
June will always be remembered for her warm loving smile and the twinkle in her eyes. She was an 'all- star' knitter and made many items of clothing and blankets for family members over the years. She loved living her last few years here in Campbell River; enjoying the seawalk, meeting friends at Freddie's Pub and many family get togethers on the beach. She was an avid reader; loved mysteries, history and thinking about the universe beyond.
Her kindness, generosity and caring had no match. She was a good friend to all who knew her. Everyone, especially her family, has been enriched for having had her in their lives.
You will be missed but your spirit will always be with us.
No service by request. There will be a celebration of life for family and friends on what would have been her 87th birthday, June 28th. Place and time to be announced.
