Sonny passed away in the Campbell River hospital on July 14, 2020 at the age of 78.
He was born in Kearns Township, Ontario to Julius and Ellen (Alberta) Nielsen. Sonny began working in construction in New Liskeard Ontario, then moved on to a career as a miner.
He relocated to Campbell River B.C. in 1973, continuing to mine throughout Canada in the winters and repairing outboards in Campbell River in the summers.
He is survived by his wife Sandra; daughters Christine, Susan, Julie, Sandy and Kristin; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 7 brothers and sisters as well as extended family.
