Judy Beadle (Nee Benjamin)

February 5, 1943 – November 9, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom and Dad, Judy and Gord Beadle. On November 9th, 2022, while traveling along one of their favourite routes on the Oregon Coast, they were struck by a distracted driver.
They are survived by their son Todd Beadle, daughter Shari Cowan, son in law Shawn Cowan and grandson Tyler Cowan.
Mom and Dad both grew up in Langley where they met and married in 1963. Gord owned and ran a successful garage and Judy worked in a veterinarian clinic. Gord’s dream though was to fly, so in 1967 they moved their young family to Campbell River where Gord began his lifelong career as a pilot.
Thanks to our parents our lives were always full of adventure including flights with dad up and down the coast, camping, water skiing, snow skiing and traveling. Their outgoing nature was contagious and they were often seen as the catalyst for many escapades with their wide circle of friends.
On any given day you would find Judy in the kitchen feeding both our body and soul with her food, and Gord with a tool in his hand working on a project for his family or friends. Our family was so fortunate, and our friends so envious, that we had “a Gord” and “a Judy”.
The outpouring of love and support during this time has been incredible and truly appreciated. It brings joy to our hearts to know how much Mom and Dad were loved. After being married for 59 years they are now eternally together in death.
As Gord and Judy were always helping others, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity in their honour.
A Celebration of Life for Mom and Dad will be held at 1 PM on April 15, 2023 at the Maritime Heritage Centre in Campbell River. Please bring a story to share.
