We are very sad to share that Joyce passed away on February 16, 2022, in Campbell River hospital surrounded by loving family members. Joyce was a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend.
Joyce was predeceased by parents Roy and Edna Forester, sister June Fauchon, and son Mike.
She is survived by husband, Bill; son, James; grandsons, Cameron and Colby; brother Gordon Forester; and sisters, Jo-Anne Morrison, Janice Forester and Jean Fair and their families.
Joyce was born in Vancouver, B.C. on May 31, 1950. She moved to Campbell River with her family in 1956 and grew up on Discovery Road.
Joyce and Bill met in school and were together for 59 years and married for 54 happy years. Joyce was totally devoted to Bill and family and loved them dearly. Among other jobs, Joyce was owner of a beautiful nursery and an awesome gift and plant shop. After retirement, Joyce and Bill explored the backroads from the Mexican border to the Arctic Ocean. These trips were nicknamed the "Ned and Ethel Fossil Tours" by son James.
Joyce was an exceptional human being and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was always there if someone needed comfort. The terrain of life we travel through is sometimes rugged and cruel, but when you had a solid like Joyce as your co-pilot, who more often than not carried more than her weight, it made it magical. She had an awesome smile on her face until the end and we were all truly blessed to be part of her life.
We will all miss our beloved Joyce so very much, but will keep her and her beautiful smile tucked deep in our hearts until we meet again on the beautiful shore.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Jokinen, the staff at Yucalta Lodge and Campbell River hospital for their kindness and care of Joyce. We will be forever grateful. A private family get together will be held next summer.
