John is survived by his son Scott (Kelley) and grand-daughter Alexa, his daughter Deb (Bill Idiens) and his grandson Ryan. He will also be greatly missed by his large extended family and many friends. John spent over 50 years with long time love Bunny, who passed away in 2003. Bunny always wanted to write a book called “Follow John”, after spending a good many of those 50 years helping John build or renovate 28 different homes. When a justified rest was required they moved to Campbell River, both becoming involved in the Art Community.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses on the 2nd and 3rd floors who went well beyond the call of duty to make John comfortable. We appreciate your dedication and compassion. John always loved fresh flowers and had a bouquet on his table every day, but we know he would appreciate in lieu of flowers, a donation to the C.R. Hospital Foundation, in his memory. “We will miss you terribly Dad, but Mom’s waiting.”
