John Manion

May 31, 2015

With loving family by his side, Waldie passed away peacefully at home in Campbell River on May 31, 2015. He was born in Port Alberni but after tragedy took both his Mother & Father at an early age, he was raised by his Grandfather on a farm in Cedar. He always prided himself as a Nanaimo Boy.

His long and colorful career in Pulp & Paper took him to mills across BC, Europe and North America. He influenced decisions to the benefit of companies he worked for and the people who had the opportunity to work with him. He was a Champion of people.

Waldie was committed to Free Masonry and served as Master of Ashlar Lodge #3 and became the Grand Master of BC Yukon Region in 1992-1993. He was also active in the Shriners and the Scottish Rite.

He loved the outdoors and was passionate about hunting and fishing. True to his Irish heritage, Waldie never forgot to have fun!

Many thanks to all that showed love and concern, especially over the past several months. He leaves to mourn family and many friends. A private service will be held at a future date.

If you wish, donations can be made in his memory to the Shriners Care for Kids, the BC Wilderness Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Love you Forever - Judi & son John
