October 16, 1939 - August 30, 2024
In loving memory ~
John Edmond Lotridge, born on October 16, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, was the son of Marguerite Lotridge (née Lamb) and Karl "Ed" Lotridge. After spending his early years in Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri, he eventually made his way to California, where he met the love of his life, Nancy Lotridge (née Hunt). They married and shared 61 wonderful years together.
While living in California, their first two children were born. In 1970, John and Nancy moved to Amherstburg, Ontario, where they welcomed two more children into their family. In 1980, they relocated to Campbell River, British Columbia, where they remained until John's passing on August 30, 2024.
John spent most of his life working in the construction trade. He was also an avid gardener, known throughout the community for his beautiful yard and his passion for sharing both his gardening knowledge and plants. His yard was a frequent feature in the Campbell River Garden Show. For many years, he held an annual plant and tree yard sale, through which he formed lasting friendships with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
John was predeceased by his sisters Madeline Criglow (née Coulter) and Joyce Reed (née Sturdy), and is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Juanita Carmichael (née Lotridge), John Lotridge (Lin), Wayne Lotridge (Chrissy), and Steven Lotridge (Sarah). He also leaves behind his 9 grandchildren, as well as 5 great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Mary Lotridge, Joyce Quathamer (née Lotridge), and his brother "Ed" Lotridge.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people who cared for John during his final days, including the doctors, nurses, care aides, and especially Dr. Farias.
