John Dennis (Jack)

Jack passed away peacefully at Cumberland Lodge on Sunday, May 9th, 2004 at the age of 86.

Born in Ontario, Jack moved to B.C. with his family in the 1930’s. Here he found a love of the ocean and boats, whether fishing, building or just working on them. He also enjoyed square dancing, bowling, swimming and cars, especially his Model T Ford he bought in later life. He was a member of the Ripple Rocket Square Dancers, The Vintage Car Club and Masonic Lodge #149 in Campbell River.

Jack worked on the construction of Elk Falls Mill and stayed on as a machinist there for many years. Jack was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Eve, who passed away in 1998 and his brother Bill who passed away in 1973.

He will be lovingly be remembered by his sister Enid (Dick) Barr of Vancouver, son Ken (Ellen) Eade, daughter Denise (Randy) Hill, grandson Steve Matthews, and granddaughter Rachel Matthews; all of Campbell River. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and good friends he made throughout his many years here. No service by request.
