John Bill (William) Howich
December 22, 1921 - February 22, 2012
Passed away peacefully at Campbell River General Hospital.
Bill is a father, brother, grandfather, and husband.
Bill is predeceased by his parents and brother of Quatsino. Left to mourn are his wife Margorie of 54 years, his son Bill Howich and wife Bonnie, grandchildren Rhaya and Ryan, brother Andy Howich, nieces and nephews, David, Anna, Robin, Robert (Babe) and Jackie, Judy, Lynn and many more extended family.
A proud World War II Veteran, he fought in Belgium, Holland and Germany. Bill spent all the rest of his life on Vancouver Island, moving from Port Alice to Campbell River in 1963, where he worked for Crown Zellerback as a millwrite until he retired.
Bill’s passion was sports fishing, fly fishing, trolling or jigging. After retiring he made many fishing lures which were always in demand.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, March 3, 1pm, at Sequoia Springs Golf Club, 700 Peterson Road.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation.
