October 3, 1934 - March 19, 2021
John peacefully passed away on March 19th, 2021 at Evergreen Care Home in Campbell River, BC. He was born in Vancouver on August 6th, 1934 and was adopted into the family of Wilfred and Donna Gibbard, of Mission BC, on October 3rd, 1934.
He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Lou Ann Gibbard and leaves to mourn his sons, Kirk Gibbard (Lori) of High River, Alberta and Jay Gibbard (Shirley) of Campbell River, BC.
John lived a full and colourful life, he enjoyed the sport of boxing, he was an avid hockey fan and loved to debate politics. He was also a Korean War Veteran and was stationed in Japan for 9 months. He was a dedicated friend to Bill W for over 50 years.
His last years were spent at Evergreen Care Home where the Aids, Nurses and Management took great care of John and truly became his extended family. Thank you Evergreen for the Care.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, there will not be a service at this time. In the future, John will be interned at Hatzic Cemetery where he and Lou Ann will be together again.
