In loving memory ~
It is with devastating sadness that we have to say goodbye to our dear Joanne Johnson, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to many. She passed away peacefully on the evening of November 20th 2024. She leaves behind her husband Leonard (age 70), daughter Angela (40), son Dustin (36), sister Dianne (and Leonard), brother Mike, nephews (Ryan, Curtis), niece (Johanna) and many other dear family members and friends.
Joanne was born in Trail, BC and moved to Victoria for college to become a legal secretary where she met her future husband, Leonard. The couple then moved to Len's hometown of Campbell River, where they were married in 1978 and raised their two children. Joanne became a Notary Public in 1993 until her retirement in 2021.
Throughout her life, Joanne's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She loved being part of the Italian Cultural Society as the secretary, volunteering at the Campbell River Hospital gift shop every Wednesday afternoon during retirement, and spending time with her kitties, Carl and Izzy.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of Campbell River and Comox General Hospitals who took such lovely care of Joanne in her final days, and who were exceptional with us, her family, during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Campbell River General Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held in 2025 (date to be determined).
Joanne will always be in our hearts.
