In Loving Memory ~
In the early morning hours of December 22, 2021, Joanne Douglas (nee Johannson) drew her final breath and departed peacefully from this earth, her son Troy and daughter-in-law Giselle at her side.
Born in Salmon Arm, B.C. in 1951, Joanne was a true warrior, defeating breast cancer twice and battling liver cancer until her final days. She goes to join her parents Bert and Anna, and brothers Carl and Dennis in Valhalla.
Joanne is survived by her three sons Troy(Giselle), Andy(Jen), and Terry(Lindsay) and her especially close nephew Thor(Samantha). Joanne cherished her four grandchildren, Cale, McKay, Mason, and Ella. One of nine children, Joanne leaves behind brothers Ron, Al(Vicki), and Eric(Wendy), and sisters Lana(Don), Nola(Jim), and Penny. Joanne also has many nieces and nephews she adored.
With an unmatched love for life and people, Joanne made only friends wherever she went. With many lifelong friends, Joanne will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and loving woman who always had time to listen or offer advice. Many who knew her felt as though she was their mother, happy to fill that role for those who needed her.
There will be no formal memorial service at this time. In the spring of 2022 we will all gather in Campbell River to celebrate Joanne’s life and spread her ashes at Bert and Anna’s bay.Obituary
