Jo Ann Green of Whaletown and more recently of Campbell River died after a short illness on Saturday, March 8, in her seventy-ninth year. A long-time resident of Cortes Island, she was predeceased by her beloved friend Allan Olmsted, also of Whaletown.

Jo Ann is survived by her dear friends the Mathews family, Bill, Bev, Sheril, Jeanie, Richard, and Samantha, and Mark Bayntun of Kamloops along with her Godson, Josh Bannister and her many treasured friends from Scotland to Texas, to Alberta and along the coast of BC.

A committed and proud Canadian, a registered nurse, a chocolatier, a prize-winning baker, a community gardener, she attended the Beshara School of Intensive Esoteric Education in Scotland and was an active member of the Ibn Arabi Society. Jo Ann was the founding president of the Friends of Cortes Island and always maintained a profound love for her island home.

A social gathering to remember and honour her will be held in Campbell River this Saturday, March 15, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Please call for details: 850-1432.

After cremation a gathering of her Cortes Island friends will take place at Whaletown in the late Spring.
