Jessie Mable Belcher (Reagh)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Jessie Mable Belcher on April 9, 2023, at the grand old age of 99.
She died peacefully in her sleep at Evergreen Seniors Home. Jessie was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, and aunt. She was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Catherine Reagh, and brother John (Jack) Richard Reagh, all of Ladner, B.C., where Jessie was born, and by her husband Frank DG Belcher and Robert K Early (son-in-law). She is survived by her two daughters Nonie Lambert (George), and Gayle Early; grandchildren, Kristen, Ryan, Bree, Shonna, and Tyson, and great-grandkids, Josh, Mikayla, Wyatt, Kailey, Violet, Danica, Phoebe, Olivia, and Julia, all of Campbell River, and a niece, Arlene Wiedemann and family in Langley, B.C.
Jessie spent most of her adult life here in Campbell River, from 1947 to 1971, moved to Duncan with Frank for work transfer and then back to Campbell River in 1990. She was heavily involved with Chas Maria, Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was instrumental while in Duncan in the start-up of Senior Peer Counseling. Then in Campbell River, she and Frank got the Beacon Club up and running, and mom was the push for the Genealogy Club as well as the Seniors Centre Society in CR Common where they designated a room in her honour, "Jessie". Mom was passionate about her genealogy and has left us with a legacy of so much information. She loved being with her family, and was a prankster, especially with grandkids. Dancing, bowling, playing crib and bridge with her besties and star gazing, were a few of her favourite things. We will miss all the birthdays and holidays and just being together.
To all the amazing caregivers at Evergreen Seniors Home. Thank you. Mom was happy and had exemplary care. Very precious for all families.
There will be a celebration of life for Jessie at the Seniors Center in CR Common Mall beside Thrifty's on May 5, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
