July 14, 1965 – November 29, 2019
Jenny Christmas passed away November 29/2019 at the young age of 54, after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Jenny was born on July 14, 1965 in Sechelt BC to Peter and Mavis Kate Christmas, she grew up in Roberts Creek and graduated from Elphinstone secondary in 1983. Jenny moved to the Comox Valley where she raised her daughters Hailey and Taylor. She worked at Safeway in Courtenay for 26 years excelling at customer service, kindness and creative skills in the floral department with the Flower Girls.
They worked together through grads and Mother’s Day’s, chocolate Turtles and chilling in the flower cooler got them through the busy times.
In 2009 Jenny met the love of her life Jim Gurr.
When her girls graduated in 2011 she moved to Campbell River to be with Jim.
After the Safeway closed Jenny worked at a few jobs before landing at Willows Market, her dream job, she always said it was like playing, not work.
Jenny was a very creative person who enjoyed the simple things in life – the beach, the birds, the bears, a heart rock, whales and wildlife. She had an eye for photography which became her passion.
Jenny and Jim enjoyed travelling, camping, wildlife and scenery.
Jenny leaves behind her beloved Jim, daughters Hailey (Christian) and new grandson Brody, Taylor (Bubba) and grandkids Aubrey and Jaxon.
Mother Kate Mavis Edwards, sister Nina (Mike), foster brother Stewart and Sister cousin Jeanette (Sean) in England.
Jenny was predeceased by her father Peter Christmas and brothers Stevie and Mark. Also missing her love is her buddy Kymme.
Jenny really appreciated the love, support and help from friends and family.
