It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jayne Hues announce her sudden passing on July 11th, 2022, at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC while surrounded by her loving family.
Jayne was born Oct. 21, 1956 in Vancouver, BC to parents Aubrey and Molly Amos, who immigrated from Wales two months prior. Shortly after Jayne’s birth, the small family moved to Richmond when two years later she was joined by brother Mike and two years after that, Scott. She graduated from Steveston High School in 1974. Jayne was a very independent and hard worker which served her well. She started work at Irly Bird Lumber in Kerrisdale at age fifteen where she met her future curly haired soul mate and life partner Graham. They were married Dec. 30th, 1977, living first in Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge. They were blessed with daughter Claire in 1979 and son Adam in 1981. A work transfer for Graham first took the family to Hope in 1985 and in the summer of 1990 the family moved to Campbell River where they called home. Jayne worked at the local CIBC branch for 22 years retiring as a Personal Banking Representative.
Jayne’s many interests included world travel, home decorating, gardening, hiking, being a snowbird to her Buckeye AZ home, and glamping with the children and grand children. She was a cat lover since she was a small child and had usually two or three beautiful cats at a time. After retirement, she volunteered with CR Paws where she helped in any way she could and absolutely loved working with feral cats, kittens and strays.
Jayne is survived by her husband Graham, daughter Claire (Mike) Mahovlic, son Adam (Tess) Hues, grandchildren Brayden, Thane, Owen and Ella, brother Mike (Lori) Amos, and nephew Sam Amos.
