JANE ANGELA SMITH

(NEE LYSYK)

August 25, 1944 – March 25, 2010

Smith, Jane Angela (née Lysyk) of Campbell River, B.C., born in Winnipeg, August 25, 1944.

It is with great sadness that Jane's family announces her sudden passing on March 25, 2010 after a miraculous seven months living with leukemia.

Jane is predeceased by her brother, Edward Lysyk and their father, Matthew.

She is survived by her daughter and son Darcey Wood and Byron Smith, son and daughter-in-law Gary and Melissa, grandchildren Mya and Nolan, mother Stella Lysyk and sister Bonnie Lysyk and family.

Jane will be remembered by all as a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and a loyal friend. She found opportunities to learn and grow in everything she did. She had a great passion for sharing her knowledge, and listening to the experiences of others. She could find something in common with anyone she met.

She appreciated music, art, philosophy, religions and nature most of all.

If she wasn't already with family, you could almost certainly find Jane walking the Sea Walk, hiking the Canyon View Trail or engrossed in a book or conversation in a coffee shop.

Jane's family would like to thank her friends for their love and support. We are very grateful to the doctors and nurses of the Vancouver General Hospital Leukemia BMT unit and the Campbell General Hospital for their care and compassion.

There will be a memorial service at Suttons on Dogwood in Campbell River on Saturday, April 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – and treat yourself to a coffee as Jane would have liked.

Mum, Mom, Grammy, Janey, Jane... We will all miss you. Don't worry. We'll be fine.
