James Macheal
August 12th, 1924 ~ November 15th, 2003.
After a lengthy battle with cancer, Jim van der Est passed away. Predeceased by his parents John and Alma, brothers John and Leonard and brother-in-law Neil.
survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years Joyce, son Arnold (Terry), grandchildren Jimmy, Nicole and Michael, brothers Art (Hazel), Bill and sister Ruth.
Jim grew up in Owen Bay. He served his country overseas during World War II. He was a long time tug boat operator on the Fraser River until his retirement.
Jim was an Akayla with the Boy Scouts, and an avid golfer and fisherman. He will be deeply missed.
