August 28, 1950 – February 4, 2017

It was a gentle snowy night in February when Jim passed away unexpectedly after a sudden, short illness in Campbell River, BC where he has lived for the past 22 years with his lifelong love, Casey Ellen Forsyth.

He is survived by his wife, Casey, their three daughters, Heather Wallace (Brodie), Julie McMath (Jamie), Kim Howes (Jordan) and his five wild and beautiful grandbabies; Lochland, Chase, Ryder, Elijah and Morgan, who filled his life with sunshine.

Born in Vancouver, BC, but raised in West Van by his parents, Charlie and Kay, Jim spent his younger years riding horses, team roping with friends and building a loving life with Casey. He was a great man who worked his hands to the bone to provide for his family and exemplified to his daughters the meaning of love, commitment and kindness.

Jim was a lover of guitars and music. He filled his family's life with silly songs and beautiful melodies, which will continue to be the reason that they will keep laughing and tapping to the beat of life. So, 'In spite of ourselves, we'll end up sittin' on a rainbow... there won't be nothin' but big old hearts dancing in our eyes."
