November 27, 1962 - May 2, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Jackie Laslo announces her passing after a brief illness, on May 2, 2020, in her home, at the age of 57.
Jackie was born to John Gear Landels and Lillias Nairn Landels (Hutchison) on November 27, 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She moved with her family to Campbell River, British Columbia in 1974 at the age of 11.
Jackie completed the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Malaspina University/College in 1982. She went on to have a rich career at Campbell River General Hospital from 1983-2020 where she tirelessly cared and advocated for every patient that she came into contact with.
Jackie is survived by her Mother Lillias, Brother Craig (Kori), Daughters; Melissa (Peter) and Tanya, Nieces; Birklee and Tierney, Granddaughters; Elizabeth and Isabelle, Brother-In-Law Ken (Yvonne), Ex-Husband John, former Partner Gord, and many other extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her Father John Landels, Sister Yvonne Galka (Landels), Sister-In-Law Linda Landels (Green), and Nephew Gregory Laslo.
Jackie was a force to be reckoned with. Her work ethic, loyalty and perseverance put her in a league of her own in all aspects of her life. Jackie was a fierce leader, a caring daughter, a patient mother, a loving grandmother, and so much more to so many. She will be dearly missed.
An enormous thank you to the Campbell River Palliative Care Team and Home Support Nurses. You gave us the strength and the courage to give our mom the dignity and humanity that she has given to so many others.
No service will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation.
