Born in Manitoba on October 5, 1915, Irene was one of 10 girls and 2 boys in the Harper family. She moved to Alberta in 1939 and married Addison Bolander in 1940.

They were to spend 41 years together until his passing in 1981. By that time they were living in BC, first at Hedley, and then Vernon until finally Irene moved to Campbell River in 1990. She lost her oldest son Grant in December, 2001.

She is survived by her son Wilf (Maureen) Bolander of Crofton, BC, daughter Donna(Bill) Eveson of Campbell River, BC, daughter Bonnie (Stuart) Haslett of Fraser Lake, BC, grandsons: Travis (Jenise) Bolander of Vancouver, BC, Wesley (Carla) Bolander of Calgary AB, and Greyson Haslett of Prince George, BC., granddaughters Marta (Craig) McAulay of Victoria, BC, Paige (Bruce) Eveson of Hobart, Tasmania, and Virginia Haslett of Ottawa, ON.

She had one great grandson, Niklas Leslie, of Prince George, BC. Her passing also leaves 3 sisters: Helen Lelond in Calgary, AB, Thelma Hillary in Lac la Biche, AB, and Betty (Alec) Turner in Wellwood, MB.

She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
