April 20, 1932 – March 21, 2016

Our family and friends grieve the passing of Inez. Inez lost her brave battle of pancreatic cancer and she went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of March 21, 2016.

Inez was born April 20,1932 in Hardisty, Alberta. Her next stop was Texada Island, then on to Quadra Island where she lived until she finished school and left to pursue her nurses training in New Westminster. She spent a few years in Merritt where she had her 3 children, moving back to the coast in 1965. She was an Island Girl for the rest of her time.

Inez moved to Campbell River with her family to run the Texaco station in the downtown area. Her next business adventure was to own the local candy store, “The Sweet Stop.” She was known as the Candy Lady for years.

After selling the candy store, Inez held various jobs in a few other businesses such as Flair Jeweller’s, Kids Wear, The Office Shop, Coach Lines and Eagle Wing Tours.

In the early 1980’s she was President of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and spent many years on the board of the Legion Senior Housing Committee.

Inez loved each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Inez leaves behind to mourn her death her best friend and husband Herb, her children Merritt (Karen), Teri (Wayne), Nancy (Brian), grandchildren Trevor (Meredith), Jillian (Jarrad), Sean, Ben, Andrea (Dean), Amanda (Terrence), step-daughter Maureen (Russell). great-grandchildren Emme, Morgan, Brenna, Lauren, Caleb and Emma. She is also survived by her only living sibling, Fred Farnsworth.

Special thanks for the many prayers, cards and phone calls from the members of the CR Baptist Church.

We would like to thank all the Home Care nurses and respite care workers for their support over the past months, including the Red Cross for supplying Inez with her equipment needs. Thanks also to the doctors and nurses in the Emergency department.

A celebration of life will be held April 2, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at the Campbell River Baptist Church
