Hugo left us in the evening on Friday, October 18th, 2019 to join his beloved wife and soulmate of 35 years "Joycie". Also pre-deceased by his sister Annie. He was a cherished husband, dad/step dad, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and amazing friend. Hugo leaves a legacy of love, courage, strength, patience, and laughter with daughters; Maureen, Katie (Ken), Darlene (Gerrit), Charlene (Mike), Kelly; grandchildren; Jodi-Dawn, Kristi-Leigh, Randy, Kristopher and Tyson; great grandchildren; Nicholas, Brianna, Joel, Damien and Angel; Nephew Norbert (Monika) and half-sister Klara {Heinz) in Germany.
Thank you to Al, Rolf and Hubert for taking Hugo out shopping and for coffee, and Penny for his feed of fish and chips as well as visits to the Trading Post. Gerry and Giselle for picking up Hugo and bringing him home when he walked too far. Thank you to Lorraine, for being such a part of our family, visiting often and assisting in looking after Hugo's home; and to his many friends.
Hugo's love of the mountains, hunting for gold and mushroom picking will live long and strong through his family and friends. His stories and many great adventures will never be forgotten and carried on for all to enjoy.
Special thanks to Dr Pete Friedrichs for his care over the years, Dr Simon Friedrichs for his care of both Hugo and his girls at the end of his life. The nurses on 3D who carefully assisted Hugo with care and compassion during the ending of his life and the nurses/caretakers who helped keep Hugo at home as long as possible.
