March 28, 1962–May 12, 2015

Hope passed away peacefully on May 12th at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC. She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents Lloyd and Greta Nelson, her father Jerry, and her siblings Lee and Rita Beaumont. She leaves behind many broken hearts: her husband Balmore (Chico), her mother Lillian, and her three children Cody, Nikki, and Levi as well as Amanda Pawlak and Misty and Eddie Cardenas, whom she loved as her own; her last sibling Lu Bertheaume, niece Natasha Brenner and the joy of her life, her five grandchildren Carlina, Rio, Darian, Brycen, and little Ezaiah.

Hope was born in 1962, and was a hard-working, dedicated member of the community despite suffering from many diseases. Highly invested in her children's lives, she worked as a volunteer at Campbell River Christian School for over a decade and was the Tyee Plaza Angel Tree Volunteer Coordinator from 2002 to 2010. In 2011, the city gave her the Adult Volunteer of the Year award for "outstanding community contribution."

She loved baking, sewing, going for long walks, ransacking thrift stores, and most of all, spending time with her grandbabies. Selfless, stubborn, and strong, she loved her family and close friends in a powerful way and was a godly woman willing to sacrifice anything for the benefit of others.

She will be remembered for many things, but especially for her love of Jesus Christ, who gave her the courage and strength to survive as long as she did. Her absence leaves a huge hole in our lives, one that can't be filled by anyone else - but she lives on in old-time gospel singing, the bright ringing of her windchimes, the steady rhythm of a labouring sewing machine, and in the laughter of her grandchildren.

Finally free from hospitals, medication, pain and sadness; finally with "papa and grams"; finally at peace with Christ.

We miss you so much, mama.

We love you, and will see you soon.

Memorial service will be held at Living Waters Fellowship Church in Black Creek at 2pm on Saturday, May 23rd. All attending are invited to bring an appetizer or dessert to share.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the SPCA, as Hope loved dogs and wished she could adopt them all.
