It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Peter Snediker Hinrichsen on March 25th in Campbell River, BC. Henry passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at Campbell River Hospital.

Henry was born in Logumkloster, Denmark and was one of six siblings (three girls and three boys). Henry worked and traveled the world in his early 20s before immigrating to Canada in the mid 60s. He eventually settled down and made Quadra Island home in the late 70s where he spent the rest of his life.

Henry worked as a general contractor/carpenter on the Island for more than 40 years. He helped build the Community Center, Tsa-Kwa Luten Lodge, The Landing Pub along with many homes on the Island. Henry loved working with wood and was always up for a challenge. He was a quiet, passionate and peaceful man who loved to spend time with family and friends.

Another one of Henry's passions was taking adventures on his motorcycle. One memorable ride in particular took him all the way up to Prudhoe, Alaska.

Henry is survived by his four children, Ian, Christopher, Eric (Tricia) and Susan (Warren), five siblings Claire, Rita, Laura, Peter and Egon, Maureen Hinrichsen, Anita Shankar, and his four grandchildren (Colin and Caelan Tuck, Justin and Chelsea Hinrichsen).

We would also like to thank the nurses and Dr's who made Dad's final days peaceful and as comfortable as possible. We will all miss him but we are grateful for the time we shared with him.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Quadra Island Legion on April 28th, 2018 at 4pm.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
