Henry Less of Courtenay, B.C. passed away peacefully into God's Presence on December 30, 2022, at the North Island Hospital in Courtenay.
Henry was born on May 1, 1935, in Krasew, Poland.
He came to Canada on July 3, 1953. He arrived in Quebec and with the help of the Canadian Lutheran World Relief he was assigned to a farm in Alberta and then worked at various occupations while there.
After moving to B.C. in 1956 he worked at Elk River Timber and then at Elk Falls Mill for 16 years.
He and his wife Evelyn purchased a farm in Black Creek, B.C. where they raised cattle for 40 years. After selling the farm they retired in 2006 and moved to Courtenay where they have enjoyed living.
Henry was a man of faith and active in the Faith Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Evelyn of 57 years, his sisters Irene Fortkamp and Marie Thummerer and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Otto and Kunigunde Less and his sister Regina Benin in Germany.
A Family graveside service will be held at Courtenay Civic Cemetery on January 11, 2023, at 1:30 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Faith Lutheran Church.
