Helmut G. (Opa)
Helmut passed away peacefully Dec. 21, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.
Helmut was born in Essen Germany. He met and married Ursula, his wife of 56 years in Herford.
Helmut & family immigrated to Victoria in l956. Helmut loved the outdoors and in 1973 he moved his family to Oyster River.
He was a Master Painter and a wonderful artist. Some of his murals can be seen in Victoria, Courtney & Campbell River.
Helmut was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting immensely.
He is survived by his loving wife Ursula, his 3 daughters, Dinah, Monika & Karin. His Grandchildren, Lucas, Krista, Cerrina, Rick,,Theresa, Jim & Sharyl. Great Grandchildren, Colton & Kathleene, Jessica & Jordon, Trevor & Troy, and Jeffrey and Jessica.
Also his sisters Ursula, and Elfriede.
His family and his many, many friends will sadly and lovingly miss Helmut.
A Memorial Service was held at the Yucalta Lodge on Sunday Dec. 24 and a farewell was given to Helmut at the Fishermen’s Lodge.
