Born in Piapot, Saskatchewan


Harold is predeceased by his parents John and Annie Elderkin and his brother Jesse Elderkin. He is survived by his partner, Sylvia Worthing, Qualicum Bay. Sons, Roy Elderkin of Port Hardy and Dale Elderkin of Comox and daughters Lorraine Ramesbottom (Jim) of Comox and Beverly Henderson of Vernon.

Brothers Lawrence Elderkin of Calgary, AB, and Gordon Elderkin (Bernice) of Keremeos and sisters Jeannette Urquhart of Kamloops and Laura Goulet of Richmond. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.


Harold moved with his family to Vancouver Island in the early 1950’s where he spent most of his life working primarily in the logging industry. Then in 1990 retired in the small community of Qualicum Bay.


Harold passed away peacefully July 13, 2007, at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital after a short illness.


A Celebration of Life is being planned for Saturday July 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Campbell River Community Hall, 401, 11th Ave. Campbell River, BC
