Harold (Harry) Allen

May 26, 1931 ~ October 1, 2011


Harry Allen passed away peacefully at the Campbell River Hospital on October 1, 2011 at the age of 80 years.

Harry is predeceased by his brothers: August and Cecil Newman; sisters: Virginia Williams, Margaret Newman and Evelyn Newman.

Harry is survived by his loving wife Phillis of 44 years; step nephew, Roy Christensen (Prince George); niece, Jean Spencer (Kamloops); and her daughter, Cheryl Pommers (Winnipeg); and one great niece, Heather Havas and husband, Michael and their two children (Nanaimo); two great nephews: Michael Williams (Kelowna) and Ricky Williams (Vancouver).

Harry will be missed by friends in the fishing industry where he worked for 35 years. He is a retired member of UFAWU and the NDP. He wrote two books ~ “Tales of Finn Bay” and “Hanging Tough”.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sutherland and the Emergency Department at the Hospital and the staff at Yucalta Lodge for the care Harry received.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Salvation Army Ocean Crest Community Church, 291 McLean St., Campbell River, on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00am.

Flowers are gracefully declined and any person that wishs to donate, can donate to the Salvation Army, 291 McLean St., Campbell River, BC V9W 2M4 or to a charity of their choice.
