H. Dale Elmore,

December 18, 2003

elmore,

H. Dale

On December 18, 2003 Dale passed away peacefully at home. He leaves his wife Norma, sons Derek (Campbell River), David (Toronto), his daughter Chrissy and son-in-law Dave Gray; also his precious grandson Dalen Gray. He also leaves his much loved “four legged” members of the family Farley, Fallah and Jing.

Dale was born in Winnipeg on September 3rd, 1931 and moved to Nelson at the age of seven. He attended Nelson High School and completed an apprenticeship as machinist at CM & S Trail. Following this he served eight years at sea aboard Canadian, British and Norwegian vessels having attended the Marine Institute in Halifax achieving Chief Engineer Certification. In 1963 Dale “finished with engines” and came ashore working at Elk Falls Mill for many years.

The family wish to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. K. Baerg for his wonderful and generous care, to the Palliative Day Nurses, the Home Care Nurses, to Anne-Marie and the great volunteer drivers of the Cancer Bus, to the two super gentlemen who delivered the hospital bed to and from, and to Gayla Smith for the loving “extra” care given so willingly. And of course, to our most wonderful “walk-about talk-about” friends and neighbours for the gifts of flowers, food and much needed laughter and hugs and for the lovingly spoken words ”no problem - just ask - we’re here - anytime -whatever”. Thank you all so very, very much.

Dale requested that there be no service but a drop-in and remember will take place at his home on January 3, 2004 between 1:00p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Donations in Dale’s name may be made to Campbell River Hospice Palliative Care Team, or to the S.P.C.A. or the Campbell River Food Bank.

So, off you go Dale, biscuits, bag and leash and when you hear the stars laughing you will know.....love you forever.........
