Grethe Elisabeth (Wold) Olsson passed away peacefully on March 29, 2015 at Yucalta Lodge surrounded by her family.

Grethe was born in Loerenskog, Norway and the family immigrated to Canada in 1951 where they eventually settled in Revelstoke, BC.

She met and married her husband of 49 years, Henry Olsson, and together they moved to Sayward, BC in 1957 where they raised their 3 children and resided for most of their life together.

Grethe was devoted to her her family, and they meant everything to her.

She worked at the Sayward post office for 25 years and retired as the Post Master in 1995.

Grethe had many hobbies which included weaving, knitting, spinning, reading and baking. She was always asked to bring her famous buns for any potluck or family dinner.

She spent her final 8 years in Yucalta Lodge, singing and humming her way through the halls, keeping everyone entertained.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Yucalta Lodge for their dedication and kindess.

Grethe is predeceased by her husband Henry Olsson and her parents Paul and Nina Wold. She leaves behind her brothers Erland, Hans and Ben; her children Laila (Rob), Janice (Gregg), and Terry (Lori); her grandchildren Keith, Kevin, Jonathan, Haylee, Cynthia, and her great-grandchildren Ryland, Levi, Kaeden, Brody and Zoey.

A memorial for Grethe will be held on Satuday, April 4, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Sayward Christian Fellowship, 740 Gentry Road, Sayward, BC.
