January 22, 1935 - November 29, 2019
Pat died peacefully with her beloved daughter, grandson and long-time family friends by her side in her Campbell River home.
Pat is predeceased by her son Iain, husband John, sisters May and Doris. Survived by her loving daughter Lynda Carroll-Roberts & devoted grandson Ryan John Roberts, as well as many nieces & nephews, especially nephew Roy Carroll and niece Doreen Guiliano who remained close throughout the years.
"Pat" was born on the McGregor family farm in Glasgow, and trained as a bookkeeper, working one of her first jobs at the Gleneagles Hotel Golf Resort. Glasgow is also where she met her husband John Carroll at the Locarno, a Big Band ballroom dance in 1955, marrying John in 1958, when he agreed to "take her to Canada".
Pat arrived in Edmonton with two young children, Lynda and Iain in 1967, and within a couple of years found her way with John leading the way to Campbell River, where she happily spent the rest of her days.
Pat continued to work at local law offices as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1996, making many lifelong true friends with all those she worked with. The addition of her grandchild Ryan, was one of her most treasured life gifts and pride for her later years.
Pat loved all that Campbell River was and spent her free time cultivating beautiful gardens. She was an expert knitter, who bestowed complicated beautiful knitted gifts to all of her family and friends. Later in life, she also learned how to paint in watercolor the garden florals she loved.
Pat was truly an inspirationally loving, true and beautiful mother, grandmother, friend and soul, who if you had known her, you were blessed.
We will forever miss her love, wit and wisdom.
