October 26, 1953 - July 3, 2018
John passed away peacefully in the Campbell River Hospital on July 3, 2018 after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. He was predeceased by his father John Hc Boby and mother Clara Boby.
John excelled academically in high school and graduated from Carihi in 1971. During his high school years, he had a summer job lifeguarding at the Gold River pool. He also enjoyed Campbell River's flag football league in the early 70's. After high school, John attended UVic for a couple years to study law, and then he worked at Elk Falls Mill, where he remained for 33 years. He lived a happy and quiet life with a few lifelong friends. His interests included reading about war and following politics. He was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humour.
He will be missed by his brothers David and Peter Boby, his sisters Nancy Taylor and Wendy Macadam, as well as his few close friends.
