December 26, 1926 - December 9, 2020
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gladys Grycan at the Campbell River Hospital on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at the age of 93.
She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by her son Glenn Grycan, her daughter Sherry (Brian) Pederson, grandchildren Vicki (Dan) Lagos, Dean (Maria) Grycan, Matthew (partner Stephanie-Ann) Pederson, Phillip (Tara) Pederson, and great- grandchildren, Brady and Mackenna Lagos, and newly arrived William Pederson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gladys was an active member of the CR Curling Club and was an avid golfer well into her late 70's. When she wasn't curling or golfing, she spent her retirement traveling, tending her garden and making her famous perogies and cabbages rolls, which many enjoyed at her yearly Boxing Day open houses.
Whether friend or family (or even stranger!), everyone knew that her door was always open for a visit and a cold beer any time. She had treats for the paperboy and the mailman and a kind word for everyone in her neighbourhood.
Your humor, resilience and zest for life will be missed the most and we'll never forget the impact you had on all of our lives. Your spirit will continue to live on through your stories and memories.
Thank you to Dr. Naicker and all of the staff at the Campbell River District General Hospital for their exemplary care and compassion during Gladys's final days.
In lieu of flowers, etc, please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation. No service as per request.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
