March 19, 1941 - September 7, 2017

Gladys was born in England on March 19, 1941. She was in London during WWII bombing. She was only a few weeks old when the house next door received a direct hit. Her mother and brother were seriously injured. When her mother awoke in the hospital 2 days later she asked, "Where is the baby?" They found her buried alive, crying and hungry. She was lucky there was a door at the bottom of the basement stairs that collapsed on her, saving her life.

She came to Toronto, Canada in July 1957 and met her husband to be, Gary, who was attending the Royal Military College at the time. They married in 1959 and Gladys became a military wife for the next 28 years. Her last posting was to Cold Lake, Alberta. It was there she became a successful entrpreneur for 15 years, managing two businesses: high-end ladies clothing and a bridal boutique.

Gladys is survived by her husband Gary and her children Sandra (Dieter Schneider), Roderick (Maria Lovato-Facey), grandchildren Carolina, Isabel and Jennifer (Sean Rogers) and grandchildren Lucas and Courteney. She is also survivied by her sister June Tiller, who lives in Surrey, England.

Gladys loved life, the outdoors and sports, curling, golf and skiing. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2017. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her loving husband Gary, her children and her dog Atlas.
