April 26, 1946 - February 2, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Geraldine Lynne Short on February 2, 2020, in Palm Desert, California. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her adoring family. Geraldine is survived by her beloved husband Lawrence Short, her son Richard Short and her daughter Melanie Botham. She is also survived by Richard's wife Megan and their children Zachary and Madeline Short, Melanie's husband Steve Botham and their daughter Emily, along with, her sister-in-law Debbie Vance (and family) and her niece Katherine-Lou Hendrickson (and family.)
She was born to Marjorie and Rex Lovewell on April 26, 1946 in Calgary, Alberta. Geraldine was predeceased by both of her parents in addition to her stepfather, Lester Schmidt, and her sister Betty-Lou Hendrickson.
Geraldine was a loving wife. She was also a "perfect in every way" mother and grandmother who doted on her brood with love and joy. She was an accomplished artist in a variety of mediums, painting and textiles being her favourite. Her artistic talents were generously shared with others.
She was a master chef who loved to create elaborate meals to share with family and friends. If you were up for a game of bridge, all the better. She was a generous soul who made friends easily wherever she went. Her joie du vivre, sense of humour and infectious laugh were contagious and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family intends to have a celebration of Geraldine's life, time and place to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Campbell River Women's Center which was Geraldine's favorite charity.
