Geraldine A (Jean) Widmeyer
July 21, 1922 – December 24, 2009
With great sadness we announce the passing of Geraldine (Jean) Widmeyer in Campbell River, British Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard (Bun) in 2007. Jean was also predeceased by her parents John and Alice Rowan, her brother Bernard Rowan and sister Mamie Cunningham. She leaves to mourn her son Terry (Susan), grandson Chris (Cheryl), granddaughter Alison (Ken), all of Campbell River area and sister Verna McLean (Gord) of Ajax, Ontario.
Jean was born in Ayton, Ontario and with Bun owned Widmeyer’s Hardware in Ayton for more than 35 years. In 1980 Bun and Jeannie followed their son and family they so loved to the west coast, an area they had visited during the war years. She enjoyed her many years of retirement living by the ocean with Bun, the love of her life, and now joins him for eternity.
A celebration of Jean’s life took place on Thursday, December 31, 2009. Internment at Elk Falls Cemetery in Campbell River.
