In Loving Memory Of Gerald Ball ~ We celebrate the life of our loving dad, husband, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Gerry was the only child of ingrid Ball and is predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara, and his older daughter, Deidre Eileen.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: John and Chris Ball of Prince George; David and Doris Ball of Campbell River; and Jo-Ann and Jim Murchie of Surrey. He had eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Gerry grew up in the west end of Vancouver where he enjoyed the beaches, roller skating, and dances with friends. In 1954, he married Barbara and they moved to Powell River where he worked at the pulp and paper mill for 38 years.
His family enjoyed beach days, barbeques, camping, and walks with his dogs. Upon retirement in 1992, they moved to Campbell River to be near family and they enjoyed gardening, long walks, and family events.
A cancer survivor, Gerry was also actively involved with the local Campbell River/West Coast Prostate Awareness Society. In 2015, Gerry moved to assisted living at Berwick By The Sea, where he happily enjoyed waterfront living. He later moved to long term care at Discovery Harbour and we appreciate its staff's kindness and support.
We are comforted knowing that Gerry joins his wife of 60 years once again. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Campbell River/West Coast Prostate Awareness Society.
