Georgina (Gina)
TUREK
It is with incredible sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our mom Georgina (Gina) Turek. In Progresso, Mexico on December 6, 2010.
Gina was born on February 10, 1947 in Prague, Czech Republic, and defected to Canada in 1966 to what would be the start of a new and adventurous life.
Gina was a beautiful woman inside and out, and as we celebrate her life she will always be remembered as a strong, determined woman that was full of life. She had a huge heart that poured out kindness and caring for anyone who would take it. She was always cheerful, had an infectious laugh and that iconic smile that spanned from ear to ear. She was honest and had a tremendous amount of integrity and respect. Above all she was a devoted mother, grandmother and partner.
She leaves behind her mother Bozena and sister Mila in the Czech Republic, partner Kurt Nordli, her daughter Marketa Finn (Mike), son Rick Turek (Hana), stepson's Denny, Jamie, Carl and Ivan along with her four most beautiful grandchildren Kieran, Keely, Nicholas and Andrea.
She will be greatly missed by all the people she has touched over the years and will continue to live in our hearts.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date in the New Year.
