November 22, 1915 -December 22, 2014
Mom was born in Victoria, BC to Archie and Alexina Cockburn. She had a brother, Dick and a sister, Lex. They grew up in Hatley Park, Royal Roads where their father ran the dairy for the Dunsmuir family. Mom was married twice; to my dad David Dickinson then later to Robert Yarrow, both deceased.
Mom worked for many years in "Boys Wear" at the Bay in Victoria and later at Sears in Nanaimo, where she met Bob Yarrow and they later moved to Campbell River to be near family.
Mom is predeceased by her parents, brother, sister and her beloved granddaughter Shelley Elizabeth Hughes.
Mom leaves behind her only child, Carole (Bob) Hughes; grandson Evan Hughes, "The Apple of Her Eye;" her great-grandsons Jaymes Anderson-Hughes and Matthew Hughes; nephew Jim (Judy) Becker, Victoria, BC; sister-in-law Helen Cockburn, Vancouver, BC, some great friends that cared for her in our absence; Jim and Joan Costello, Gary and Carolyn Scales, Janet Hockley, Al Johnson as well as her precious dog, Casey.
We would like to thank all the staff at Yucalta Lodge for all their wonderful care for Georgina over the past two years, there are some very special people working there and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank You!
