Born in Turner Valley Alberta to Jim and Eva Hartley. George was predeceased. by his wife Vera in 2016.
He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles serving as president in the Nelson Area. He worked for many years as the Director of the Provincial Emergency Program in Nelson before retiring and moving with his wife to Campbell River to be near family.
Never one to sit long, George secured a position with the local Home Depot. He was a well known and loved greeter at the front of the store.
He leaves his daughter Dianne (David), his son Jim (Janie), his son Gordon (Lea), 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. No service by request. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cancer Society of BC.
