July 24, 1932 - April 19, 2019
It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and "Opa", George Bergsma.

Predeceased by wives Evelyn in 1974 and Grace in 2014, son Mike Wind, brother Skip and sister Anna Mack.

George leaves behind and will be greatly missed by his family David (Cathy) Bergsma, Joanna (Paolo) Tancon, Mark Bergsma, Alisa (Rick) Peake, Dan (Sandy) Bergsma, Audrey (Lloyd) Bergen, Jim (Laura) Bergsma, Kurt (Lisa) Wind, Margaret (Derek) Kitchen, Mike's widow Brenda Tessman, his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchild, extended family, friends and his four legged buddy, Samson.

Born in Comox in 1932, George moved to Campbell River in 1962, where he became a familiar face in the community, as Manager of Safeway, Kraft Mill Coordinator and Grocery Manager at Nor-Isle Co-Op. George will always be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humour, the ability to make people comfortable and as a "mobile cookie dispenser" for always having cookies available for all the dogs he met on his morning walks with Samson on the Beaver Lodge trail.

The family would like to thank Dr. Naicor and the staff at Campbell River General Hospital, especially the CD unit for brightening dad's last days.

There will be a Celebration of Life on June 1st, 2019 at the Baptist Church Hall, 260 S. Dogwood Street, Campbell River, BC, from 1pm to 4pm. Please join the family for some reminiscing and light snacks.
