Geoff Dacre
Geoff was born on Dec. 4, 1941 in Durban, South Africa and passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Campbell River Hospital. He was predeceased by his father Ronald Murgatroyd. Geoff is survived by his wife Lorna; his son Bradley (Angel) of North Vancouver, his daughter Joanne of Vancouver; his grandson Liam; his mother Winnifred of Victoria; his brother Michael (Signi) of Victoria; his sister Patricia (Robin) of Calgary; his aunt Hilda of England and nieces and nephews Gavin, Meredith, Andrew, Lise, Ian and Hayley, Geoff belonged to the C.R. British Car Club, Jensen Healey Car Club, the Rover Car Club and was a member of the Old English British Car Club. He worked at the Elk Falls Mill for 12 years in the Instrument Shop and took an early retirement to do traveling and enjoy his hobbies working on this model train and rebuilding collector cars. Geoff loved the oudoors, fishing and camping. He was a problem solver, a perfectionist and a jack of all trades. He was a loving husband and father and a proud grandfather. A special thank you for the 3rd floor nurses at Campbell River Hospital who cared for Geoff with compassion and also a thank you to Dr. Keith Graham, Home Heath Nurses and the Home Support Workers for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Altrusa House, 142 Larwood Rd., Willow Point n Saturday, June 11th, 2005 commencing at 11:00 a.m. Everyone Welcome. Island Funeral Services/Elk Falls Crematorium, #103-909 ISLAND HIGHWAY, CAMPBELL RIVER entrusted with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Resource Centre, 1423-B-16th Ave., Campbell River, B.C. V9W 2C4 with appreciation.
