It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Stromme. He passed away surrounded by family after a short hospital stay. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Glenna Stromme. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Judy, daughter Tracy (Grant), son Greg (Vera) and grandchildren Michael, Claire, Hannah, Callee and Stefan. Gary is also survived by his sister-in-law Betty (Kel) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gary was a very gentle and caring man. His family was his first priority. He would drop everything to come help us all when needed. His sense of humour will always be remembered. He was well liked by everyone he knew. Road trips and camping were a few of his favourite past-times. Miller Creek won't be the same without him.
Gary spent his life on Vancouver Island, working in Sayward for the same family for most of his career. His dedication to everything he did was evident in his work life, spending more than 50 years with the same company.
A special thanks to Dr. Simon Friderichs, Dr. Farias, and all of the great staff at the Campbell River Hospital.
A private service will be held in the spring for family and close friends.
