It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of of Freda, beloved mother of Tim (Stella), Sherry (Bob), Kevan, Brian, Rick (Carol) and Cindy (Bill). Proud grandmother of nine; great-grandmother of nine. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd, brother, Gordon and daughter-in-law, Charlene. Freda was raised with her brother, Gordon, in Vancouver. Lloyd and Freda met when she was fifteen and they married in 1942. They moved to Campbell River in 1951 and opened Lloyd’s Do It Yourself Shop. Being an accomplished seamstress enabled her to develop the custom drapery department of their store which later became known as Lloyd’s Interiors. Freda’s family also benefited from her talented knitting and sewing skills. A founding member of the Campbell River Baptist Church, she joyfully taught Sunday school there for more than twenty years. In 1988, Freda and Lloyd retired to Vancouver to enjoy time with grandchildren. On their return to Campbell River in 2011, Freda resided with her son, Brian, while Lloyd was a resident at Yucalta Lodge. Freda will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her mischievous smile and cheerful laughter.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Campbell River Baptist Church, 260 South Dogwood Street on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
